VACANCY - LOWONGAN - District Officer Makassar & Administration Assistant Jakarta - Save the Children

Save the Children is a leading nonprofit humanitarian relief and
development organization working in more than 45 countries throughout
the world. Our mission is to create lasting, positive change in the
lives of children in need. Currently Save the Children has an immediate
need for an experienced staffs to be a part of our Decentralize Basic
Education 3 (DBE 3) Program Team and start immediately in Makassar and
Jakarta.

The positions needed are as follow:
1. District Officer, based in Makassar (Code: DO - Mks) - 1 post
2. Administration Assistant, based in Jakarta (Code: AA - Jkt) - 1 post



1. District Officer, based in Makassar (Code: DO - Mks) - 1 post

Primary Purpose

The post holder will support and monitor the implementation of the
Decentralized Basic Education Objective 3 (DBE 3) project in North
Sumatra or East Java or West Java or South Sulawesi. Support good
communication between district partners and DBE 3 Provincial Management;
ensure district partner implementation of the work plan; facilitate
coordination among stakeholders at the district level.

Core responsibilities:

Project Development and Implementation

1. As required, support project data collection and analysis and
ensure that stakeholders have access to data and project information.

2. Participate in project design, development, and work planning
activities as needed.

3. Make regular visits to monitor the progress and quality of
district-level activities.

4. Provide logistical support for trainings, workshops, meetings, and
field visits.

5. Organizing such trainings, workshops, meetings, field visits, and
facilitate it as needed in collaboration with other project staffs and
or consultants.

6. Support the development of public-private alliances at the district
levels.

7. Prepare and submit reports of project activities (training,
workshop, meeting, field visit, monitoring) to the Provincial
Coordinator

Sub grant/subcontract Supervision

1. Participate in pre award assessments/compliance reviews of
potential partners as requested.

2. Participate in selection of potential partners as requested.

3. Monitor district sub grantee activities, prepare reports, and ensure
that issues and problems are identified, raised, and resolved, and that
the project provides needed technical support.

Representation and Coordination

1. Liaise with district education departments and communicate their
input to Provincial Coordinator for inclusion in project design and
implementation.

2. Work/coordinate closely with DBE 1 and 2 district staff and
programs.

3. Identify and coordinate with other district stakeholders as
required.

Requirements:

Background and Experience

* S1 (Education, Management, Social Studies, or related field)
preferred.

* At least 3-5 years experience in the same field area

Knowledge and Skills

* Ability to develop good relationships with stakeholders and
colleagues - able to work well with others
* Good fieldwork, mobilization, and communication skills
* Good organization and time management skills
* Some prior knowledge of education and youth issues
* Able to work with limited supervision
* Communication (written/oral) / interpersonal skills
* Microsoft Office Packages
* Some English (preferred)

2. Administration Assistant, based in Jakarta (Code: AA - Jkt) - 1 post

Primary Purpose

The post holder will responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and
administrative support in order to ensure that municipal services are
provided in an effective and efficient manner for DBE 3 Office

Core responsibilities:

Perform receptionist functions

1. Greet, assist and/or direct visitors to the appropriate staff
member

2. Receive, direct and relay telephone messages and fax messages

3. Pick up and deliver the mail

Provide office support services

1. Open and date stamp all general correspondence
2. Maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence
3. Assist in the planning and preparation of meetings, trainings
and conferences

Perform clerical duties

1. Maintain adequate levels of office supplies.
2. Maintain adequate levels of proper functioning of office
equipment.
3. Respond to public inquiries
4. Maintain inventory of fixed assets for DBE 3 office.

Event

1. Coordinate with Administration Officer & Logistic Officer to
provide program support functions to program team in relation with
outside visitors, i.e. organize meeting/training, hotel booking, set up
meeting with government, etc.

Requirements:

Background and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Administration/Social Science or Diploma
degree in Secretarial Course.

* 1-2 years experience in similar field area

Knowledge and Skills

* Fluency in spoken and written English.
* Excellent in Microsoft Office programs.
* Ability to work in a team/independently
