VACANCY - LOWONGAN - Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant Islamic School Support Network (ISSN) - British Council

The British Council in Indonesia is looking for 1 (one) monitoring & evaluation consultant for its ISSN (Islamic School Support Network) programme.

Terms of Reference

Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant Islamic School Support Network (ISSN)

The British Council is implementing a second phase of ISSN project in 6 provinces in Indonesia.
ISSN aim at providing skills and training materials for teachers and schools in pesantren (Islamic schools) in Java and Sumatera Selatan, and engage schools through education, skills development and networking activities.
The area of training and development for teachers and schools in this project are English, Social Entrepreneurship, Climate for Classrooms and Connecting Classrooms. 

Under the guidance of British Council Project Manager, a Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant will be hired to strategise and implement the monitoring and evaluation design of ISSN project activities.


Duties and Responsibilities:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant will be responsible to develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation system for ISSN, including an appropriate output oriented monitoring indicators and monitoring systems; and including setting up baseline and impact evaluation of ISSN projectMonitor project activities (may be done jointly with British Council team)
Synthesise lessons learnt and best practices in monitoring and evaluation Required Competencies, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation; and development evaluation in particular.
  • Knowledge of current development issues particularly those pertinent to schools and teaching.
  • Ability to conceptualize issues and analyze data.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
  • Sound experience in international development issues, especially in monitoring and evaluation with a background and interest in the analysis of education or social issues and related policy matters.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Education: Bachelor Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics or related social sciences. Master's Degree is preferable.
Period of Project: September 2010 - March 2011.
The consultant will be working on short term / part time consultancy contract.
Appointed consultant is required to travel to project areas.
