Currently Save the Children has an immediate need for an experienced staffs to be a part of our Child Protection Advocacy & Research Team and start immediately in Jakarta.
The position needed is as follow:
1. Child Protection Advocacy and Research Specialist (Code: CPS - Jkt) - 1 post
Primary Purpose
Provide support to the Child Protection Advocacy and Research Adviser in the development of program on child protection and to manage program implementation under direction of CP Advocacy and Research Adviser
Core responsibilities:
1. Support CP Advocacy and Research Adviser with relevant and updated data and information including analytical thinking on the development of conceptual framework for child protection works in policy level, research and program implementation.
2. Support CP Advocacy and Research Adviser in the development and implementation of strategies, operational plans and budgets for the CP Advocacy and Research programs.
3. Manage and provide support to the CP Advocacy and Research Adviser in ensuring effective reporting and coordination across the programs.
4. Provide technical advice on child protection to CP Advocacy and Research the team and consultants including in the implementation of programs, ensuring full compliance with the organizational policy on child protection and listening to the staff, children and community input to improve the implementation of the responses.
5. Support timely progress reports in order to ensure the provision of accurate and updated information including ensuring regular reporting by the CP teams and consultants and other reporting needs as required by CP Advocacy and Research Adviser.
6. Represent Save the Children's CP Advocacy and Research team with other agencies including national, provincial and district government, donors, UN, local and international NGOs and participate in the coordination meetings under government or NGOs networking.
7. Review and report on progress in the implementation of the CP programs, measuring impact and identifying challenges in their implementation using the Monitoring and Evaluation System established for CP program.
8. Manage overall administration affairs for the CP activities including supporting to consultants works.
9. Manage the CP Advocacy and Research budget effectively and in an accountable manner working with the Finance team preparing and submitting accurate and timely financial updates and reports.
Requirements:
Background and Experience
* Bachelor degree in Social work or relevant studies.
* 8 years in related field
* Proven knowledge and experience in child protection.
* Proven expertise in working on advocacy and research
Knowledge and Skills
1. Good knowledge of child protection.
2. Good understanding on the issue of children without parental care.
3. Proven advocacy and research skills
4. Proven experience of child protection programming within set time frames and with demonstrated impact.
5. Excellent project management skills.
6. Proven skills in child protection monitoring and evaluation systems
7. Analytical and conceptual thinking
8. Proven skill in capacity building of team
9. Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skill
10. Strong working relationships with government and other partners
11. Excellent English and Indonesian language skills - both verbal and written, including writing and presentation skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
12. Computer literate
